This is the first of three posts introducing my upcoming release, Kaihtlyn's Choice.
I am so excited to introduce the heroine in my upcoming release. She is named after my oldest granddaughter Kaihtlyn.
I remember the first time I met her in July 1999 when her parents brought her to Colorado to take part in my wedding to her grampa.
She stepped into our apartment as if she’d lived there all her life. We had a pull-out sofa, a television, and a dining room set. One bedroom, where she, her parents, our younger daughter, and her younger brother would sleep. She never once complained.
Now graduated from college and living in Chicago, my real-life Kaihtlyn works for an advertising agency, handling social media for key accounts. She is sweet, responsible, and loves Jesus.
Which is why I had no trouble calling the heroine in this book by her name. Every time I went to write a scene, I’d see my Kaihtlyn saying and doing the things I talk about. When she was in danger, my heart thundered. When she was falling in love, my heart pitter-pattered right along with my heroine’s.
Some people will tell writers not to name characters after anybody they know, but in my case, it made writing the book so much easier.

About Kaihtlyn's Choice:
A widow heads west to meet her wandering husband in Nugget, Colorado. On her arrival, she learns he died. But he left a gold mine and a will. With a stipulation: She must marry within 30 days. To one of three men he pre-selected before he died. But which man will win her heart? The tinker, the tailor, or the candlestick maker?
